THE TECHNOLOGY ISSUE

It’s Fleet World, but not as we know it

In the ever-changing industries of automotive and publishing, if you stand still, you’ll get left behind. Numerous car brands have suffered this fate, continuing down a path with particular models or ideas that simply are no longer fit for purpose. On the other hand, the dynamic, brave and risk-loving OEMs are often those who thrive and their gambles pay off.

In the world of magazines, it’s a similar situation – and, here at Fleet World, we find ourselves challenged from different angles. The thirst for news, views and information online is growing, so we’ve acted accordingly and introduced a truly digital version of the magazine. You’ll notice that it’s more interactive and customer-centric than just the print version of the magazine online. We remain committed to a physical magazine throughout 2023 because we recognise that people still want a tangible product to flick through, but this is our first foray into doing things differently.

Technology is at the heart of many of the changes in the world of publishing, so it is fitting that this issue has a special feature on technologies that can help the fleet market over the coming months and years. As well as informing, Fleet World has always aimed to help readers, drivers and fleet managers to ensure their businesses – and vehicles – are as efficient as possible. New technologies and approaches are helping to make that happen and hopefully you will be able to adopt many of them and appreciate the benefits.

Elsewhere, you will find all the standard regular features of Fleet World – Incoming; road tests; analysis and interviews with key industry figures. Over time, we will continue to refresh our offering and look to find new ways and means of getting you the information that will help improve your operations. At the same time, we want Fleet World to be a pleasure – not a chore – to read. If you have a story to tell and want to be a part of the future of Fleet World, let me know!

Oh, and while you're reading through this issue, don't forget to sign up to our new and improved Great British Fleet Event 2023! Find out more details here!

Enjoy the issue!
