Though using the same body as larger PSA models, Fiat has gone its own way with the electric Ducato. Payloads of up to 1,950kg are promised for the 4.2-tonne models.

MAN is to offer the eTGE, based on parent company Volkswagen's eCrafter. The van leaves the factory in left-hand drive, but is professionally converted to right-hand drive in the UK.

Formerly known as LDV, Maxus will launch a mid-weight van that is only offered with electric power. A choice of batteries and body lengths will provide up to 168 miles of range.

With the mid-weight eVito now on sale, Mercedes-Benz has turned its attention to the larger Sprinter. Mercedes offers a single battery pack for the L2H2 van.

Volkswagen will offer the e-Transporter in the UK this year. The mid-weight van has been converted to EV drive by German specialist ABT and comes with a choice of battery packs.

Volkswagen's heavyweight electric van is currently only offered in one body size and in left-hand drive. A factory right-hand drive version is expected next year.
