Renault Drives The Future
More EVs, automony, market innovation and sustainable mobility planned in next six years.
Groupe Renault has unveiled a new six-year plan that will see it launch 8 pure electric vehicles and 12 electrified models, 15 with autonomous drive capabilities and 21 new models overall, with all vehicles featuring 100% connected services.
The Drive The Future plan will result in a company that aims to sell more than five million vehicles annually, with everything it does predicated on sustainable mobility.
€18 billion will be invested in Research & Development, with common platforms increasingly utilised across 80% of Groupe Renault vehicles to enhance efficiency. There will also be a raft of new mobility services launched, including ride-hailing and robo-taxi services.
The six-year plan aims to deliver annual revenues of over €70 billion, achieve a group operating margin of over 7% by the end of the plan, with a floor at 5%, and positive free cash flow every year.
Under the Drive The Future plan, Groupe Renault forecasts that unit volumes will grow more than 40% to over 5 million units, compared with 3.47 million units sold in 2016, as the company expands its product range, including in LCV and new zero-emission electric vehicles* and builds on success of its global access range. The plan will also leverage the R&D and global economies of scale from Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, the world’s largest automotive alliance, while maintaining financial discipline and cost efficiency.
