IAA Transportation To Bring More New LCVs
The August heatwave is upon us as I’m writing this, but it will be a bit cooler (I hope) at the next big commercial vehicle industry event – the IAA Transportation Show in Hanover next month. It offers manufacturers their first opportunity to roll out new product for 2027. We’ve had previews of some already but we can expect to see a number of models that we have not yet seen here. Kia is set to unveil the next model in its van line-up following the launch of the PV5 last year. PV7 will be Kia’s medium van model and we know that it will be all electric. It’s due to arrive here next year and we can’t wait to see what it looks like.
Chery gave us hints of what is to come at the CV Show earlier this year, but we should get our first glimpse of the models likely to be joining the Delivan range in Hanover. We also expect BYD to show the first of its larger vans slated to reach the UK.
European manufacturers will also be bringing new product to the show. Mercedes-Benz has been teasing us with the shape of things to come for the new Vito and Sprinter models and we can expect to see the real thing for the first time in Hanover. Stellantis announced its Smart Compact Van range in the summer and they will be on display at the show too. As now, there will be Citroën, Fiat, Peugeot and Vauxhall variants – Berlingo Van First, Doblo EasyPro, Partner Active and Combo Start respectively.
With over a month still to go, we know there will be more too. Renault Trucks will show its variants of the new electric Renault van models for starters. Then the winner of the International Van of the Year 2027 is due to be announced on the eve of the show. Will it be a Farizon, Hyundai, Maxus, Renault, Stellantis or VW? Watch this space.
