MAZDA IN THE CHANGING ENVIRONMENT OF FLEET
As the fleet industry goes through some of the biggest changes in its history and we embrace the transition to Net Zero, Mazda believes in a multi solution approach to meet customer needs now and in the future, while at the same time never losing sight on our commitment to achieving carbon neutrality across all our global operations by 2050.
At Mazda we believe in taking a flexible approach to reduce emissions from all our cars, offering realistic options for drivers with different requirements, while still fully embracing electrification. Last year Mazda Corporation announced its phased plan towards 2030, which focuses on accelerating electrification as part of a multi solution approach that includes the mild-hybrid, self-charging hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles in our current range.
Crucially, from 2025 to 2027 we will see the global launch of new battery electric vehicles, and in addition to these products, Mazda is developing a dedicated platform for electric vehicles: Skyactiv EV Scalable Architecture. It will be used for electric vehicles of various sizes and body types to be launched between 2027 and 2030.

Thanks to all of the above we have the flexibility to face the changing demands of fleet customers going forward, and today our battery electric Mazda MX-30 is joined in the line-up by the Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV – a series plug-in hybrid that combines a 17.8KWh battery with an 830cc single rotor-engine that acts as a generator to allow longer drives without charging anxiety. This combination of electrification and Mazda’s unique rotary engine technology is an example of the innovation found across our research and development teams. As a result, with our Mazda CX-60 PHEV, Mazda2 Hybrid, MX-30 BEV and now MX-30 R-EV we have a wide choice of electrified options for fleet customers.
